Trusting God!!!

Do you ever struggle with trusting God? How can you be sure that God is really going to come through for you? What do you do when the pressure is on and you’re tempted to give up?

As we look around the world today, so much of what people have placed their trust in is now shaken. There are shutdowns and bankruptcies, pandemics and protests. People that thought they had prepared for their future are now discovering the future has changed.

It seems that even the experts keep changing their minds about what is the proper response to these unprecedented times. Their advice and guidance keep changing every 48 hours.

In times like these, it’s difficult to know what and who can be trusted!

This is not the case with our God. He is consistent, never changing, and always comes through on His Word! You can put your trust in the unshakable, faithful God!

GOD IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL

The book of Deuteronomy tells the first-hand account of how the children of Israel experienced the faithfulness of God. After God fulfilled His promise to Israel, Moses declared, “Therefore know [without any doubt] and understand that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who is keeping His covenant…” (Deuteronomy 7:9 Amplified Bible).

God, speaking through Moses, is assuring Israel that He is the covenant-keeping God and whatever He has promised He will continue to fulfill. Regardless of whatever opposition they might have, or whatever adversity they may encounter, God is faithful to fulfill His covenant promises.

Faithful, in Hebrew, literally means something you can lean on or build on. In other words, God is dependable, trustworthy, and He is never going to let you down.  By entering into covenant, God obligates Himself to those with whom He entered into covenant. He regards Himself as bound to what He has promised.

So, what are His promises to you? What can you hold onto in times of trouble and turmoil?  As a faithful God, He promises to:

1) Take care of those with whom He has entered into covenant

2) To supply their necessities

3) To fulfill their desires

4) To deliver them from all their afflictions, troubles, and adversities

5) To never abandon them or to leave them hopeless or helpless

His promises are irrevocable; they’re never to be changed or reversed. They are final!

You need to settle this in your heart, if you haven’t already done so. Develop faith in His faithfulness. This is a major key to victorious living.

God’s promises are not just for famous preachers or reserved for a select few. His promises are for you!

The Apostle Paul tells us, “God is faithful [He is reliable, trustworthy and ever true to His promise—He can be depended on], and through Him you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9 Amplified Bible).

You have been called into fellowship with God through Jesus Christ, and all of His promises are for you. When you read God’s promises, consider them as a personal guarantee from God to you.

The Bible is full of personal accounts of God’s faithfulness. The author of Hebrews reminds us, “(Sarah) judged Him faithful who had promised” (Hebrews 11:11). She discovered that no matter how impossible it may look, if God promised it, He will bring it to pass!

In fact, when things are difficult and look hopeless, that is when God does some of His best work. Refuse to get discouraged when things look impossible; your miracle is on the way! In Psalm 31, the Psalmist wrote, “Praise be to the Lord, for he showed me the wonders of his love when I was in a city under siege” (Psalm 31:21 NIV).

Regardless of the attacks you are facing, I’m praying for wonders of God’s love to show up on the scene and change circumstances for you.

God declares in Psalm 89:33 that He will not “Allow His faithfulness to fail.” The New International Version says, “nor will I ever betray my faithfulness” If He wouldn’t betray His faithfulness to previous generations, then He’s not going to betray His faithfulness to you.

In fact, the very next verse happens to be one of my favorite Scriptures, God promises, “No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said.” (Psalm 89:34 NLT).

Now, I ask you, can God truly be trusted? A thousand times, YES!

No matter what we are going through now, and no matter what we may go through in the days ahead, God will be faithful to those who trust Him!

You’re also encouraged in Psalm 34:19 (NIV) to remember that, “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” Your faithful God will come through just like He always does.

Never forget this truth: GOD IS FAITHFUL AND CONSISTENT IN PERFORMING ALL THAT HE HAS PROMISED.
